Autumn

By Alex Baranda

The leaves turned into the colors of flame
As the summer season came to its end
The autumn breeze softly whispered her name
And it echoed into my heart and mind

The clear indigo skies turned into grey
As the days of summer bid their goodbyes
The autumn wind came like a child at play
And it cooled my lonely heart with soft sighs

The longer days gave way to the dark nights
As the leaves fell to the ground one by one
The autumn gust unleashed its mighty wraths
And it left my heart battered in the end

The leaves were on the ground as autumn came
And my broken heart waited for the wind
