Yearning
I was needing her wisdom once again
I was missing the talks we used to share
I was hoping her counsel could ease the pain
But silence answered, leaving only air
I was longing for comfort in her voice
I was aching for the words she used to say
I was broken by absence, left no choice
But holding on to love that will not sway
I was staring at the past that slips away
I was clinging to memories that fade
I was praying for strength to face the day
But finding only shadows, time has made
I was yearning for the light she used to give
And learning love remains as long as I live
